What We Do  Our Organisational Framework  |  Areas Of Intervention

:: Our Organisational Framework  ::

Within our organizational framework, the partners play complementary roles in natural resource management, alternative income generating activities and small and medium enterprise development process. In order to ensure sustainability, the following organizations perform adequate role:

Rural Community Based Groups: Organise themselves into Common Initiative Groups (CIGs) with a common objective to carry out natural resource management, alternative income generating activities and small and medium enterprise development related activities adopt and relevant sustainable methods of carrying out their activities.

Donors: Materially or financially facilitate the adoption of technology through materials or financial subsidy for the purchase of inputs and funds in training.

Executing Organisation of specific donor’s choice: Mobilizes suitable community groups and employs, facilitate their training and communication among the different partner organizations and provide accountability for donor financial resources.

FAAFNET’s success depends on how effectively and efficiently each partner organization plays its role. Therefore, the active participation and commitment of the community based groups is crucial. Currently, FAAFNET is working with community groups in parts of the coastal region and villages at the foot of Mount Cameroon. Most of these groups are still to be supported. Meanwhile, some international organizations have funded capacity building programmes for some groups.

FAAFNET is convinced that projects such as alternative income generating activities (market gardening, modern beekeeping, and animal husbandry) which are based in rural areas, with appropriate linkages to other sectors of the economy, have significant cash earning and self-sustainability can greatly benefit the poor and disadvantaged community groups in Cameroon. At the same time, organizations involved in working with these groups do achieve their targeted developmental objectives for their programmes.
